Updated coverage of the north end of Interstate 235 at the reconfigured systems interchange (I-135 Gold North Junction Project) with I-135, K-96 and K-254 with photos from July 12, 2026. Also replaced five photos at the south end, where the signage is the same as in previous years.

Interstate 275 Tennessee

Updated coverage of the north end of Interstate 275 with photos from July 31, 2026 along I-640 west and along I-275 south at I-40/U.S. 441 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Also added historic map scans from 1964 and 1965.

Interstate 640 Tennessee

Interstate 96

Updated coverage at the east end of Interstate 96 in Detroit with photos from 07/22/24 and 07/19/26.

Interstate 375 Michigan

Updated both ends of the ill-fated Interstate 375 in Detroit, Michigan with photos shot on July 22, 2024. Also added a 1961 map scan. The revised Interstate 375 Boulevard project was approved by the FHWA last month. Planning and design can proceed, and construction filling in the below-grade freeway is scheduled to start in Summer 2027. Changes at the turbine interchange joining I-75/375 are still many years out due to a lack of funding.

Interstate 475 Michigan

Replaced the four photos at the north end from I-75/U.S. 23 southbound, and the south end shield photo with photography from July 22, 2024. Also added map scans of Flint, Michigan from 1968 and 1980.

Interstate 675 Michigan

Updated coverage of both ends with photos from 07/22/24. Also added two map scans from 1970.

Future Interstate 42 (Western)

The next section of the Springdale Bypass (Arkansas Highway 612) opens to traffic on September 4, 2026. This lengthens the future I-42 corridor in Arkansas by another seven miles southwest from Highway 112 to U.S. 412 in west Tontitown.

Interstate 196 Michigan

Updated photos covering the east end of I-196 in Grand Rapids with ones taken on July 19, 2026.

Unsigned Interstate 296 Michigan

Added photos from 07/18 and 07/19/26 covering both ends of unsigned Interstate 296, from every direction no less. Rescanned the 1978-79 Grand Rapids map on the page and added two other scans others from 1967 and 1968.

Interstate 96

Updated photos covering the west end of Interstate 96 at Norton Shores, Michigan from July 18, 2026. Surprisingly the signage along both directions of U.S. 31 leading to the cloverleaf interchange with I-96 and U.S. 31 Business was unchanged from the 2009 photos previously posted.

Updated photos covering the east end of Interstate 30 in North Little Rock, Arkansas with ones shot on July 8, 2026.

Interstate 57

Added photos from July 8, 2026 covering the south end of Interstate 57 in Arkansas at North Little Rock. Also added one photo of the current north end of I-57 in Arkansas along U.S. 67 south in Walnut Ridge.
Additionally replaced photos covering the south end in Missouri along southbound Interstate 57 with ones taken on July 7, 2026.

Interstate 169 Kentucky

Updated coverage of both ends for Interstate 169 in Kentucky with photos taken on July 6 and 7, 2026.

Interstate 190 Illinois

Updated coverage of the west end of I-190 at U.S. 12/45 (Mannheim Road) and Bessie Coleman Drive at Chicago O'Hare International Airport with photos from 07/18/26. Also added photos showing the c/d roadways connecting I-90 and I-190 along the Kennedy Expressway and IL 171 (Cumberland Avenue) in Chicago.

Interstate 440 Arkansas

Added photos covering the new eastern end of Interstate 440 at I-57/U.S. 67-167 in Jacksonville. Also added photos covering the west end of I-440 from July 8, 2026.

Future Interstate 343 Oklahoma

Finished adding photos of the end points for the planned route of Interstate 343 along the Muskogee Turnpike in eastern Oklahoma. I-343 has nothing to do with I-43, but the Oklahoma Transportation Commission nonetheless approved the numbering for the route in 2025. AASHTO approved the application at the Annual Fall 2025 meeting.

Future Interstate 42 (Western)

Created a page for the proposed western branch of Interstate 42 between IH 35 in Noble County, Oklahoma and I-49 in Springdale, Arkansas. ArDOT and ODOT applied for the designation to AASHTO on October 5, 2023. Efforts to designate the U.S. 412 corridor as an Interstate go back to legislation introduced by Senators in both states on May 21, 2021. The 42 numbering is based off dropping the one from 412...

Future Interstate 644 Oklahoma

Interstate 644 is the proposed renumbering for the tolled Creek Turnpike around the south and east sides of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The designation was approved by AASHTO at the Fall 2025 meeting of the Route Numbering Committee. Included in this new page are photos covering both ends from 07/11 and 07/12/26.

Interstate 4

Updated coverage of the west end of Interstate 4 in Tampa with photos taken along both directions of I-275 from today and earlier this year. Ongoing construction to Spring 2027 addresses traffic congestion at the Downtown Interchange where the two routes meet.

Former Interstate 178 Pennsylvania

Fired up the scanner and added two maps showing the proposed alignment of Interstate 178 into Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Interstate 180 Pennsylvania

Updated coverage of both ends with photos from July 25, 2024. Added a scanned map from 1975.

Interstate 99

62 miles of U.S. 15, between I-180 in Williamsport and the New York state line near Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania were officially redesignated as part of Interstate 99 on July 30, 2026. Construction upgrading the exchange where the end of I-99 ties into I-80 near Bellefonte, PA continues to 2030. Added or replaced coverage at both at the south end near Bedford and at I-80 with photos from July 14 and July 25, 2024.

Future Interstate 777 North Carolina

Interstate 777 is a designation promoted by the Carolina Core initiative of the Piedmont Triad Partnership for the freeway along U.S. 421 between I-77 near Hamptonville and I-40 and Salem Parkway in Winston-Salem. The same group successfully advocated for an Interstate designation (I-685) along the U.S. 421 corridor between Greensboro and Sanford.

Interstate 235 Iowa

Added photos from 07/14/26 covering I-35 north at the West Mixmaster Interchange with I-80/235 in West Des Moines, and from I-35/80 east showing the recently completed Northeast Mixmaster Interchange project upgrades at Interstate 235.

Future Interstate 435 Iowa

Added page on the proposed designation of Interstate 435 for the outer belt loop around the Greater Des Moines area between I-35 at West Des Moines and I-80 at Altoona. Legislation for upgrades along the freeway along Iowa 5 and U.S. 65 to Interstate standards was passed by the Iowa House and Senate in 2025. Language for I-435 was recently added to the federal surface transportation bill, which could be passed in early 2027.

Interstate 344 Oklahoma

Interstate 344 was approved by AASHTO for the John Kilpatrick Turnpike around Oklahoma City in 2023. Signage finally went up in 2025. Posted photos from July 11, 2026 covering both ends from every direction.

Interstate 335 Oklahoma

Don\'t expect the Scranton Beltway to become reality anytime soon, as four years of potential construction is not anticipated to start until 2030.

Interstate 676 Pennsylvania / New Jersey

Updated coverage of the south end of I-676 with 11 photos from 12/26/24

Interstate 516 Georgia

Replaced four photos at the west end from 09/04/25.
Construction on Project DeRenne did not start this year. Instead work on the EIS continues, with the final approval of it anticipated for 2028.

Interstate 16

Replaced 3 photos of the east end in Savannah from 09/04/25. Also replaced 5 photos and added another of the west end in Macon from 09/07/25. Construction on the I-16/I-75 Improvement Project continues, with the final phase underway.

Interstate 587 North Carolina

Updated and expanded coverage of the east end with photos covering all perspectives from 07/29/25.

Interstate 57

Signs for Interstate 57 in Arkansas were installed starting on March 17, 2025. The route replaces U.S. 67 north 122 miles from North Little Rock to Walnut Ridge. Added a photo of an I-57 confirming marker posted north of U.S. 78/AR 225 and one of the current southbound beginning in Arkansas at Walnut Ridge (07/11/25).

Interstate 555 Arkansas

Replaced three photos of I-55/U.S. 78 north at I-555 from 07/11/25.

Interstate 295 North Carolina

The final section of the Fayetteville Outer Loop opened to traffic on November 25, 2025. Added/replaced 7 photos at the north end from 07/11/25 and 07/29/25. Also added five photos of the south end from 07/11/24.

Interstate 215 Nevada

Updated coverage of the I-215 west end from Interstate 15 northbound with photos shot on 10/24/25.

Interstate 169 Kentucky

Interstate 169 in Kentucky was made official following the completion of upgrades to Interstate standards in December 2024. Replaced three 2013 photos of the south end with ones shot on 12/30/23.

Interstate 69 Texas

Created a new page covering Interstate 69 in Texas, moving some of the background information off of the main I-69 guide, and updating with ongoing progress to designation I-69 in Liberty County on November 13, 2025 and work in Wharton County.

Interstate 69

As announced on November 3, 2025, three additional miles of I-69 in Kentucky were added along U.S. 41 on the bypass of Henderson, with 2.5 miles of Future I-69 opened on November 11.
Finally updated the page overview reflecting the designation of I-69 along the remaining 21 miles of the Purchase Parkway west from Mayfield, KY in December 2024.

Interstate 77

9 photos added of the north end in Cleveland from 07/23/24.
Updated the history of I-77 based on research with the AASHTO Route Numbering Archive, outlining 1957/58 Interstate Route Number assignments. Initial plans routed I-77 between Cleveland and Port Huron, MI

Interstate 405 Oregon

Replaced 4 and added 1 photo covering the north end from I-405 along the Fremont Bridge with photos from 09/26/25.

Interstate 11

Added 8 photos from 10/23/25 of the north end at SR 157 (Kyle Canyon Road) in Las Vegas. Sign changes replacing shields for I-515 with I-11 in Las Vegas and Henderson were finalized by Fall 2025. Only one remaining I-515 shield was spotted on a recent visit to Las Vegas last month.

Interstate 215 Nevada

Updated coverage of the east end from I-215 east, I-11 south and SR 564 west with photos from 10/20/25 and 10/24/25.
