Within the Greystone Boulevard interchange, 1.50 miles east of the junction with Interstate 26. Still ahead is the westbound only off-ramp to Colonial Life Boulevard. The interchange with Greystone Boulevard is only assessable from westbound as well. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (06/08/03).
Centerline upcoming exits sign, one half mile east of Colonial Life Boulevard. Interchanges on Interstate 126 are not numbered. This may have something to do with the fact that there are no eastbound mainline off-ramps, just the ramps at the eastern terminus. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (06/08/03).

The mainline of Interstate 126 westbound defaults onto Interstate 26 west. U.S. 76 continues with Interstate 26 to Exit 101, six miles to the northwest. Departing here is the u-turn ramp for Interstate 26 east. From here eastbound motorists will see another five interchanges serving the South Carolina capital city. Original button copy overheads placed at the Interstate 26 eastbound ramp of Interstate 126/U.S. 76 westbound. Most button copy signs in the capital city area were replaced by Winter 2001. Photo taken by Alex Nitzman (08/05/00).
In place of an exit gore point sign is this Interstate 26 panel. The eastbound ramp can be seen in the background as it turns west than south. It is elevated for its duration due to the nearby Saluda River. The waterway bisects the ramp between the Interstate 26 and 126 mainlines. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (06/08/03).
The Saluda River down below, the Interstate 26 eastbound ramp of Interstate 126 descends to the mainline. Ahead is Exit 110 with U.S. 378/Sunset Boulevard. This interchange serves the West Columbia community. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (06/08/03).
Returning to the Interstate 126/U.S. 76 westbound mainline, traffic prepares to merge onto Interstate 26 west. Just to the north is the Interstate 20 & 26 junction (Exit 107). The right-hand lane becomes exit-only for the east-west freeway. The overpass ahead is that of the eastbound ramp featured above. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (07/06/03).
Exit 107 traffic for Interstate 20 departs before the Interstate 126 mainline merges onto Interstate 26 west. This eliminates the weaving traffic patterns that would otherwise be encountered. The junction of Interstates 20 and 26 is a cloverleaf interchange. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (07/06/03).

Sandwiched between the Exit 107 Interstate 20 interchange and Interstate 126/U.S. 76 eastbound split is Exit 108 with Bush River Road. The divided surface arterial cuts a swath between Interstate 20 and U.S. 176. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (07/06/03).
Drawing to within one-half mile of the Interstate 26/126 eastbound split. For some reason or another, all guide signs for the Columbia freeway spur spell out Interstate 126 as "ROUTE I-126" instead of utilizing a standard Interstate highway shield. The bridge in the background is that of Bush River Road. The ramp entering in the background is the Interstate 26 westbound mainline. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (07/06/03).
Interstate 26 turns to the south and crosses the Saluda River. From the left two lanes continue southeastward toward Downtown Columbia as the Interstate 126 eastbound beginning. This interchange does not receive an exit number in the eastbound direction. It is signed as Exit 108 on Interstate 26 west. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (07/06/03).

Interstate 26 maintains seven lanes between U.S. 178 and Interstate 126/U.S. 76. The highway is apart of the great Columbia Beltway system, of which includes Interstate 20 between Interstate 26 and 77 and Interstate 77 between Interstates 20 and 26. Photo taken by Chris Patriarca (06/08/03).
