Business Loop I-94 - Medora

The westernmost Business Route for I-94 in North Dakota loops 3.8 miles south from the freeway at Exit 24 to the city of Medora. The route lines Pacific Avenue (old U.S. 10) through what Mike Frank writes

the main 'tourist' town of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, South Unit.

The former US highway was displaced by Interstate 94 both west and east of the town. Mike Frank adds

old U.S. 10 still exists in Western and Central North Dakota in its entirety except for sections just east and west or Medora. It is all county roads now, so how good a road it is depends on the county. They didn't incorporate U.S. 10 into I-94 like the eastern part of the state did.

A wye interchange (Exit 27) brings Business Loop I-94 and old U.S. 10 back onto Interstate 94 at the east end. Construction of the freeway replaced the old route to the Painted Canyon Visitor Center and 36th Street SW, just west of Exit 36.

The Medora Business Route was posted with just one sign per direction in 2016.
