I-5 north at the former Business Loop for San Clemente, CA — A Route 5 Business placard precedes Exit 72 for Cristianitos Road in northern San Diego County. This was the last remaining sign for the defunct business loop through the city of San Clemente in Orange County. California generally references Interstate business loops once on a supplemental sign in text as “Route XX Business” on the freeway mainline. 04/26/08

The business route for I-5 through San Clemente followed El Camino Real northward from Exit 72. Trailblazers for I-5 were posted along the loop in lieu of reassurance markers for Business Loop I-5. The lone remaining sign for the route stands along Interstate 5 northbound prior to the Cristianitos Road off-ramp.
