| Interstate 277 prepares to switch over to North Carolina 16 as the Brookshire Freeway enters the Interstate 77 interchange. Although some maps shown North Carolina 16/Brookshire Boulevard as a full freeway, there are at-grade intersections between Interstate 77 and Interstate 85. Nonetheless, the highway is a useful route between Interstate 85 and downtown Charlotte. Photo taken by Alex Nitzman (12/99).

| Interstate 277 ends as North Carolina 16 continues northwestward. Departing at the right is the northbound Interstate 77 ramp.
