Interstate 244 was the former designation for the 20-mile section of Interstate 270 (St. Louis Beltway) between Interstate 44 and Interstate 70. Designated in 1958, it was renumbered as Interstate 270 in 1974.1
Westbound/Southbound Interstate 270 approaches its junction with Interstate 70. Prior to 1974, this interchange was the western terminus of Interstate 270, and the beltway continued south as Interstate 244.
