Routing

Interstate 210 in Louisiana is a short loop providing an alternate route to Interstate 10, which passes through downtown Lake Charles city to the north. The control city of "Loop" is used in both directions.

History

Interstate 210 opened to traffic in 1977. Spearheaded by Lake Charles city councilman Isreal LaFleur in the 1950s, the freeway provided a truck bypass route of Interstate 10 and an alternate to the Lake Charles bridge.1
