Interstate 24 has only one business loop, in Paducah, Kentucky.

For a long time, this was signed as "Downtown" Loop I-24 from the Interstate 24 exits. Apparently now the signs from the Interstate say "Business Loop," but the stand alone signs still read "Downtown Loop." This is the only Interstate business loop in Kentucky. Billy Riddle posted this on misc.transport.road on 10/28/98. "I must mention one thing in Paducah. The route of Downtown Loop 24 has been altered. It no longer follows the first mile or so of U.S. 68 to get to I-24 east of Paducah. It is now routed along a new five-lane highway called John Puryear Parkway that runs from the Husband Road exit to the intersection of US 60/62 and Business US 60/62. Downtown Loop 24 follows the Business US 60/62 routing, living up to its expectations of going downtown. This new John Puryear Parkway routing has decreased the mileage of Downtown Loop 24 but it has reasserted the fact that the route is still alive and well with brand spanking new signs and everything." |
