On the northbound exit for the north terminus of Business Loop I-25 and the southbound exit for the south terminus for Business Loop I-25, they have Interstate 25 shields on the sign, rather than green Business Loop shields. Thanks to James Allen for finding this loop and reporting on it. |

| Santa Fe
| Decom. |
According to Rand McNally, there is no longer a Business Loop I-25 signed through Santa Fe. Cerrillos Road is simply signed New Mexico 14, and this designation ends at the junction with U.S. 84-285. Business Loop I-25 used to follow Cerillos Road, St. Michaels Drive, and Las Vegas Highway. |

| COLORADO
|
| Trinidad
| Active |
Matt Salek reports, "I don't know of any local-control business routes in Colorado, but I'm suspicious about I-25 in Trinidad. In the package of Colorado pictures Mike Ballard sent me, there was one of a Business Loop I-25 sign for Trinidad. Also, from a picture he took of a sign assembly, U.S. 160 no longer exits from I-25 where it used to. As near as I can tell, it now has what used to be the Colorado 239 exit. So, perhaps the old U.S. 160 exit is now a state-maintained Business Loop I-25 exit, or maybe it isn't. I even don't know which exit the Business Loop I-25 sign is for, because it just says 'Next Right' rather than 'Exit xx.'" As of July 2008, the Trinidad business loop sign is still present, but a drive through town revealed no business loop reassurance shields. |

| Aguilar
| Active (Mostly Unsigned) |
This Business Spur I-25 is unsigned off mainline Interstate 25. There is one stand-alone shield: a Business Loop I-25 shield on old U.S. 85-87 north of downtown Aguilar. This spur goes southwest from Exit 34 for 1.94 miles (per the Colorado State Route Log) to central Aguilar. Matt Salek writes, "This one goes from a diamond interchange at I-25 southwest to Aguilar. I'm not sure where in town in ends, though. The historic alignment of US 85-87 is west of I-25 at this point, going right through Aguilar." |
|
| Walsenburg
| Active |
The Walsenburg 3.94-mile business loop runs from Exit 49 to Exit 52 on the west side of I-25, along old U.S. 85-87. There are no U.S. 85-87 signs on this loop. Matt Salek writes, "From Exit 49, Business Loop I-25 goes northwest through Walsenburg, right along the old alignment of US 85-87. Through town, it uses Walsen Avenue (that's fitting). There's a multiplex with U.S. 160 with a few blocks from 7th to 5th streets. Then, north of town it curves back northeast, and again hits I-25 at Exit 52." |
|
| Colorado Springs
| Decom. (signs being removed) |
The Colorado Springs business route used to extend from Exit 140 to 148 on the east side of Interstate 25 along Nevada Avenue. Again, the business loop was concurrent with old U.S. 85-87, but don't look for any U.S. 85 or U.S. 87 signs. It was only marked as Business Loop I-25. This business loop was 6.75 miles long per the Colorado State Route Log. On October 1, 2007, the business loop was decommissioned along with portions of several other state routes in Colorado Springs (such as Colorado 83 and Colorado 38), and the new Colorado 21 (Powers Road) alignment was added as a state highway in Colorado Springs. On southbound I-25, approaching the left exit for Business Loop I-25, there was a sign which says "BUSINESS [25]", with [25] being a green loop marker. Thus the word "BUSINESS" appears on both the shield and on the green sign background. Matt Salek writes, "This route is along the historic alignment of U.S. 85-87 through Colorado Springs, Nevada Avenue. It starts at Exit 140, a truly atrocious cloverleaf/diamond hybrid that is currently undergoing reconstruction [reconstruction was complete in 2007 and a new configuration is in use]. Business Loop I-25 then heads due north right through central Colorado Springs. On the north side of town, it hooks back up with Interstate 25 again at a partial interchange at Exit 148. If you're coming south, Business Loop I-25 has a left exit off of Interstate 25. Also, the sign for it is redundant, saying '[25] BUSINESS' where [25] is already a green business shield. Also, even though it is a left exit, the exit number tab on the top of the sign is on the right side (it should be on the left because it's a left exit)." |

| Castle Rock
| Decom. |
Old U.S. 85-87; this loop was decommissioned by 1996; by 2007, Colorado 86 was rerouted to the north side of the city. The west end of Colorado 86 used to be at 5th and Wilcox Streets in Castle Rock, which is three blocks east of Interstate 25. This intersection is at a junction with "S.H. 25-E". SH 25-E was formerly defined as a "Business loop through Castle Rock." The state route log listed its length at 1.20 miles. Matt Salek writes, "As near as I can tell, it goes along the east side of I-25 from Exit 181 to 182 on Wilcox St. Wilcox appears to be former U.S. 85-87 through town. Colorado 86 does not make it to I-25, instead ending at unmarked Business Loop I-25 at 5th and Wilcox Street in town. Using DeLorme StreetAtlas USA 4.0, I have been able to put together this possible routing for Business Loop I-25. Basically, it looks like the most logical one would be from Exit 181, northeast and north on Wilcox Street, then northwest back to I-25 at Exit 182. On I-25 itself, Exit 181 is referred to as 'To Colorado SR 86, Franktown' while Exit 182 is Wolfensburger Road (going west from I-25)." This business loop, per a July 1998 inspection, is definitely unmarked on the mainline Interstate 25. Dan Stober suggests that the act of Colorado DOT not signing a business route from the mainline relieves the municipality of responsibility to maintain the road. He feels that perhaps Colorado DOT doesn't mark it because they want to abandon it, but Castle Rock doesn't want a maintenance burden dumped on it, so it stays on the books, but without any signage. |
